ACADEMIC YEAR PROGRAM A full academic year in the United States, typically 10
months in duration; students ages 15-18 years live with U.S. host families and
attend the local high school. Area Representatives provide supervision and
counseling at the local level. Orientation is provided prior to departure and
upon arrival. Typically students apply by January for the start of school
in the fall, arriving approximately a week prior to the beginning of school and
remaining with the host family during the school year, before returning home in
late May or early June.
SEMESTER YEAR PROGRAM Similar to our Academic Year Program, the Semester Program
is for students who wish to only spend one semester in the United States,
typically a five month program. Students have a choice as to whether to
travel for the Fall or Spring Semester. Students who wish to attend
for the first semester will arrive with the full year students and return to
their country in early January. Students who have applied to attend the
second semester will typically be available for selection in early November to
arrive late December in time to begin the second semester and then return in
late May or early June when school is completed.
OUTBOUND
/ STUDY ABROAD
OPPORTUNITIES
Through out network of foreign
partners, we also offer American Students the opportunity to travel abroad for a
month, semester, or a year and live with a volunteer host family. Students
are immersed in the local culture and language, with more advanced students
attending school for a semester or year. Orientation is provided prior to
departure and upon arrival. Cost to participants varies depending upon
program length and the options selected. Transportation and personal
spending money are additional. Inquiries into travel opportunities are
welcomed.
